We are in search of After-School Club Leaders/Teachers for our Smarti's Boardgame Clubs in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. Our mission is to introduce, promote and play well-researched and tested board games for children aged 4-11. We believe that integrating these games into education from primary age greatly promotes the intellectual and emotional development of children. They light up young minds and stimulate logic, problem-solving, social skills, confidence, visual perception, creative thinking, and much more. Due to increasing demand, we are looking for more boardgame club leaders for 1-hour classes in primary schools at our after-school and community clubs. Key Info • Full training is provided • All teaching materials/games and lesson plans are provided • There are additional paid opportunities to facilitate other boardgame events and clubs which are not part of our after-school programme • We have a community of teachers to share teaching tips and ideas with • Sessions are generally 1 hour and run on a weekly basis during term time from 3:30 - 4:30pm. The classes are small, max. 5 children/session • The position is ideal for teachers and LSAs already in primary schools or anybody who is fun, committed, loves children, and is passionate about teaching essential skills to children through play Job Requirements • Must be confident working with children • Must be able to commit to teaching at least 1 weekly hour-long session • No teaching qualification is required, and we can apply for a DBS if you don't have one.
